Description

The Sens will more than likely be picking in the top 5 this year, and hopefully the top 3. One thing they could REALLY use is a legit #1 centre, and Byfield looks to be that. It'll still be tough next year unless Byfield is somehow McDavid-like out of the gate (highly doubt), but Byfield will be a great 1C for a team that has a ton of young skill on the wings.

Assumed signings here:

Galchenyuk gets dropped by Pens and signs a one-year prove-it deal with the Sens where he'll get top line minutes and traded at the deadline if that's what he wants.

Corey Crawford moves from sharing the crease in Chicago to sharing it in Ottawa, where his crease-mate is older and probably easier to push down the order.

Entry-level deals for assumed picks Byfield and Drysdale. These only happen if one of the Sens picks is in the top 2 or 3 and the other is still in the top 10.
