I like that Josh Anderson trade, but I doubt Columbus would do it. Habs accept regardless.

I did trade Petry for a similar value as what you're describing. Gustafsson + 2nd is worth roughly 1st+
The BUF trade I'm most aware is not fair value. I've seen some irrational trades at under-fair-value in the past, because of underperforming players. I think this has a sliver of a chance to happen again.

If we were breaking down the team for parts, then I agree with the mentality of "1st+", but let's not pretend Gustafsson + 2nd isn't valuable too.
Thanks on the Josh Anderson one. Honestly I have no idea what CBJ's plan for the future is, I'm a little lost. I'd like to think that they'd sell J.A. for picks but who knows. And lol I won't comment on that, the real GM's and scouts in the league probably know better. I'm just taking a guess like you on Rasmus' abilities.

What gives you the impression Petry is worth so much, he scores about 40 points a year, is in his 30’s and has a huge cap hit.

Guys, come on, 5.5M isn't a huge cap hit. He's an all-around D, not a pure offense type. In any case, he obviously isn't elite top 10 in the league, but he's a 1st pairing RD in his own right.
