Unrealistic is right. Makar looks terrific but you are giving up the guy who finished 5th in Norris voting last season and one of the best forwards on the Leafs and 2 firsts. Colorado would take it an run immediately and TO wouldn't be a playoff team.

I dont think they do. Makar on his ELC and looking to be a great building block for years. Rielly is coming off his best year, and besides that has never been a 10+ goal scorer, while Makar looks like hes going to do that in his first year at 21. Nylander is good, but the Avs already have some really solid wingers. The 1st rounders are nice, but they're late in the round.

Nylander is elite, Rielly is elite and both are 25 or under. This would make Colorado the deepest and most dangerous team in the league and gives them 2 more 1st rounders to boot. Doesn't even matter if Makar becomes the best defenceman in hockey. He isn't worth 4 top level assets. This is the biggest no brainer deal I have seen that wasn't meant to be a troll job.

Makar is currently outscoring both of them at 21 on his ELC. What’s that make him???? Late firsts are great but hardly high level assets in this scenario. Then you add Zadorov as well?

1 player is not worth a Norris calibre defender and a top line offensive forward with point a game potential. This is McDavid level price. Crazy deal that damages the Leafs. Hard no.

So now Rielly and Nylander are worth McDavid? I understand your a die hard Leafs fan but that’s a ridiculously blue tinted view. Regardless your opinion I’d think it pretty safe to say the AVs wouldn’t make this deal anyway.

Makar looks terrific, and he's piling up points, however he is getting sheltered minutes so we don't know how well he's going to be on the defensive side of things. He's going to be terrific no doubt. However, why on earth would a team that fancies themselve a contender gut their organization like this? Rielly is a Norris contender. Why on earth would anyone trade that for a younger less proven offensive defenceman who has an amazing contract for 2 more seasons. On top of that, they are giving up a legit top line winger who's currently tearing it up. 12 points in his last 12 games and has been blasting upwards. Oh and lets also give up 2 first round picks. (Before you say anything dumb like late 1st rounders, Sandin was 29th and he looks like he's going to be an incredible defenceman himself, so that is a weak and lazy thought) No this trade is garbage and its not at all anything Dubas would do. No one would do a trade like this. Remember when Seth Jones was traded? He was traded for Johanson who I am not sure is even equal to Nylander at this point. You are dreaming here man, no offensive defenceman is going to get you 2 top end players and 2 1st rounders. Its just silly.

The deal proposed is Zadorov and Makar. Can we stop with the 4 premium assets for one offensive defenseman as you put it as clearly that’s not the case. It’s 2 premium assets and 2 assumed late firsts. Late firsts are hardly premium assets regardless of the Sandin/Frosts etc. For every name like that you can name 10 that never developed....it’s a risk as we both know.
It seems you overvalue Nylander and Rielly whilst greatly undervaluing Makar and have completely ignored Zadorov and the impact a player like that would have on the Leafs. I agree it’s an overpayment from the Leafs but it’s hardly as egregious as you imply. Like I said before I don’t see the AVs accepting if this was indeed proposed anyway.
