You are missing the point, Price's contract is not the kind you can just bury or trade. It'd be illogical to have a 10.5m backup as well. Primeau and Suzuku will most likely be traded for the long time left side defense help.

Long term? of course there is. Start Price 50ish games a season, he will last longer long term and will be well rested for playoffs

How about we finally get a competent backup so the game can be split between both instead of Price playing 60-65+ games every year? How about we could finally make our mind and make him play 50 games and Primeau gets 32? Then goes in the playoff with a healthy and fresh goaltender tandem?
Seems that some people are already driving Price out of town just to put Primeau in the exact same situation ... Bad backups, needs to play more games that he should normally, gets hurt along the way and the wheel keeps spinning. When are people going to learn from past mistakes?!
