It's funny because it might be true. But the above trade could turn into a win for Ottawa if Jones plays better without Burns and Karlsson always jumping into the rush, in front of him?

Unfortunately, Ottawa's D aren't any better. Shot suppression is at an all time low right now so I don't see how this can be an improvement on what Ottawa already has (last night, TBL had something like 51 shot attempts in the 1st period alone to OTT's 19 or something). Nilsson-Andy-Hog have been solid despite a couple of bad games but that's okay with the young team in front of them. There is no excuse for Jones and Dell to be this bad with the type of team in front of them. Don't get me wrong, Jones has games where is half-decent and others where he just looks out of place.

The other problem is the length of the contract. 5 years is a long time for a struggling goalie to ride the pine even with the salary retention. You're also taking a goalie spot from one of Ottawa's up-and-coming goalies (Hogberg and Daccord come to mind).

It's a small price to pay but it doesn't make sense in the long run.
