What is your logic behind Toronto accepting that deal?

Preds don't want or need hunt and hartman - already been down that road and it didn't work out. So not wasting a 3rd in a deep draft on them

3 reasons
a) saving money
b) getting a defensive D
c) getting a decent and cheap 2G

Hunt could be a 2nd pair D with them. He's been surprisingly good and plays well on the right side.

As for Hartman, he's still decent enough with acceptable contract.

a) Fair
b) He's barely an NHL defender
c) I would say decent is generous. He also makes more than Hutch. The value there is negligable.

So essentially this deal would just be capspace...and we'd need to go spend more assets on a defender. Downgrade from Kapanen to Greenway as well. Does Greenway PK? Can he actually skate well for his size? I'm not sure he's a fit.

I just don't see them dipping back in that well

I would think long and hard at that jets trade if I’m the jets but I eventually decline. Those are 2 nhl players who we will need as they will be cost controlled bases 2 guys who will most likely walk in a few years

I don’t hate the sharks trade but we can’t sell the farm for Dubnyk when we are last in the division
