There's a little wiggle room there if the Rangers want to get it done and he does actually want to leave Washington. A lot of it depends on which direction they want to go in the first round of the draft. If they wind up being in a position to get one of the top centers, then this doesn't really make much sense and you'd think they'd go for a short term solution.

Gotta think you could get more or better for Deangelo, strange how Rangers fans are so willing to move him and often for not much of a return.

Good offensive defenseman for sure. What will hold back the return for him: (a) not very good defensively - at least not that I can see in Lindy Ruff's "system" and (b) off-the-ice/attitude issues.
