this is the most realistic ceci deal i've seen and even then i'm not sure about it. wpg is on the bubble and might be desperate enough to let toronto out of that cap space this season, but i can't help but think there's going to be better defense rentals on the market at the deadline. if i'm WPG i'm targeting gustafsson, vantanen, borowiecki, dillon first, then ntc guys who might waive like green, daley, hainsey. ceci is pretty far down the list and wpg has a lot of options. tor might have to move on ceci for almost nothing if the TDL market is active

a 5th round pick is, depending on your source, between a 13% and 20% chance of being an NHL player. a 7th round pick is between 7% and 14%. if your team is in position to play the odds and plan to rebuild or retool, that difference matters a lot.
