They could do it if they have not enough nhl contract players and have no room to sign an ahl to a nhl contract, but that never really happen for attackers, it has happen with goalie
But it’s only for emergencies

Wow, he's like 6'2'' playing 16 year olds, he made 1 highlight reel play, he would definitely be able to consistently do that in the NHL

The average age in the Q is 18 and it's a pretty impressive highlight reel play. He also had an 8 point game earlier this year and is in the top 10 in points per game in the Q

He also can use his size and strength to almost bully kids in the Q, he won't be able to do that in the NHL, he's not a fast skater, anyone can make a highlight reel play, i can pull a Michigan with some sort of frequency, yet I have a 0.0% chance at playing any sort of pro/college/juniors hockey, (yes I saw his play, he sort of chopped at the puck while laying down, my point was anyone can pull off a highlight reel play, it doesn't make them good) and that one good game (obviously not remotely sustainable) boosts his PPG up quite a bit, without it he'd be 25th, and even with it he's only 11th... The Q is also the easiest/most offensive league out of the three...
