"Nevertheless, the Sutter allegations have been nothing but rumors. They have not proven to be true, at least not yet. One former player of his claimed that he witnessed verbal abuse from Sutter during his time with the LA Kings. No other players have stepped forward to corroborate this story, but that doesn’t mean these accusations have been fabricated."

Isn't concrete enough to not consider the guy. Especially when he has a track record of turning around teams.

They sacked Montgomery for "non-hockey relative reasons" meaning that he most likely got into some trouble with either other players or other personnel in the organisation. I can't see them hiring another coach who has also allegedly done something like that too...

If that ends up being the case he probably will be able to get a job in a year or so. Your best bet mid season is to promote an assistant coach he knows the system they use and he knows the players. Plus there aren't a lot of big name coaches that would want to come in mid season to implement an new system or learn and adapt to the current system. Now if the promoted coach doesn't do well it's much easier to move on from than if you brought someone in from outside the organization.

Doesn't matter, no team will hire a guy accused of abuse. It'd be a PR nightmare
