I will just quote myself from some other thread abot TML trade ( to lazy to rewrite ) :

No need to explain me about it, im not a homer yelling Hutchinson is back on track after two Games against DET and how we are fine.....

For sure it is a record there, but 35 year old rental for 6M ( or even half retained by some cheap "magic" ) and 3,11 GAA on the Team with better D then TML has surely isnt the answer....especially not for those 20 Games he should be fielded. His 3.11 would translate into 3.8 with current superior TML defence or actually he would be hospitalized after Game with WPG few days ago......

Sry to say it but Crawford is done.....would pay you two 1sts five years back for him, but bringing him in today ? No thx.....

So, who's the solution for the backup? Hutch ain't it. Why not a 3rd round pick for a real backup. Anderson's played in 33 games so far. You want that to be 60 before the playoffs? I'm not a Leafs fan, but as a neutral observer on the outside...getting a back up goalie is probably more important than overpaying for a quality RHD. You can help the team more, for soo much less. No?

Hutch hasn't been bad recently. And he doesn't need to be a 1B, he just needs to be exactly like he's been under Keefe. He needs to give the team a chance to win and to help Andersen get some days off. With how the team has been playing, there isn't as much panic around that spot as there was before. TO just goes out and win. Right now, there isn't much need to do anything apart from continue to evaluate while the team continues to adjust to Keefe's system. That is the thing that most people on here fail to think about. They are only 20 games into learning this system, they will definitely continue to tighten things up.

Homers will come with : Hutchinson is good on basis of three Games pattern ( or 5 last year ) but as i said, to much money for what Crawford can do at the moment. I agree with you completelly TML needs backup ( tho not more then two defenders that will play D beside Muzzin, which will allow Backup to be even a mediocre guy cause SA and SCA would be adressed by that ) but Crawford isnt it. My targets usually are DeSmith as odd man out Goalie that can be replaced by Hutchinson in AHL or Cambell with LA falling of the cliff this year....

I have zero issues with waiting to see how things go. That would be my plan as of 1/6/2020 if I were Dubas. Hutch I think 4 games under Keefe? My discussion point is more so...75% of the games are going to Anderson. That's too much. He's going to be worn out by the playoffs. Maybe it isn't Crow, but Hutch needs to be playing more games. If anything the rate of Anderson playing has increased since Keefe took over. I'm just thinking that a 3rd rounder for a 2 time cup winner and let's be honest, more inspired netminder when you have something to play for...would be a good addition to help keep this high for TOR going even longer. Just me.

***EDIT*** regarding the 20 games. That goes both ways. Other teams haven't had a chance to game plan against Keefe either. That's probably more a negative than you're thinking. It's actually possible this might be why TOR is on a tear recently. Just food for thought, that's all.

Because Jack Freaking Johnson is your #1LD. AND Galy's $4.9M cap hit has totaled 14 points.

Sure, but also when teams have made adjustments, so does Keefe and he's really shown a knack for make the right adjustments at the right time. He's a smart coach and I think his flexibility is going to make it difficult to game plan against. I also think he's very much in a good spot. Its not like he took over a team that doesn't have enough good players to be dominant. This team is supposed to be this good. They were supposed to be this good right from game 1, so this is as much a product of the teams overall level of talent as it is a coaching change.
