You are taking what I am saying wrong. I don't think Manson is crap, he's a good player. I don't think TO will trade for him because the price is way too much for what he brings to the table. As I have mentioned Muzzin got less of a return than what you guys are asking and he is a better player. Had a longer track record of being a top pair guy (he was paired with Doughty alot), always had very good underlying numbers and averaged close to a point ever 2 games in his career.

Of course he had a longer track record, Muzzin was older. He also had less term, was on a more expensive deal and plays LS, where it is easier to find good D-men as opposed to RS. Muzzin had good underlying numbers because he was playing with Doughty, a top 5 D-man in the league at the time, and had spent most of his career alongside a D-first powerhouse team in the LA Kings.

I disagree you paid less for Muzzin than what we're asking for Manson. All you are doing is overvaluing Sandin and Liljegren and are completely unwilling to accept they are not sure things and destined for top pairing stardom. Of course, now that Grundstrom and Durzi, 2 former 2nd rounders have flown the nest, they weren't worth jack when you moved then for Muzzin, but the prospects you have now are just the best and worth sooooo much.

Manson may have had big value 2 years ago but he fell off last year and again this year has been just ok.

So one bad season negates years of good service. You literally have a player in Nylander that proves players can bounce back from a bad season. We're not contending this year, we can wait.

You'll get a good return if you move him, I am not at all disagreeing with that, however you are not getting, Nylander or Sandin or Liljegren from TO. Probably not Kapanen either. If someone else wants to pay a ridiculous price for them cool. I doubt Dubas is going to sell the farm for 2 years of a stay at home defenceman who had a great season 2 years ago.

Fine. Kapanen isn't enough for me. D-men are worth more than wingers and Kapanen is only a 2nd liner.

Muzzin has had the same numbers no matter who he played with. Often with Doughty and often Martinez. No matter who he played with he was consistently playing top pair worthy minutes. He made it earlier in his career than Manson, had better numbers than Manson and is better just plain better.

Won the cup and is a playoff warrior.

No Manson is not worth more, perhaps the same for the extra year of contract but not more.

Ok, so Liljegren + 2nd. That's equivalent to Grundstrom + Durzi + 1st..... Oh wait! I forgot. Grundstrom + Durzi, despite being solid picks at the time of being traded, aren't TOR players anymore and so are currently worth jack ****. Meanwhile, Liljegren is a beast, the best player since Bobby Orr and definitely 100% going to become an elite #1D in the league. The value difference between Grundstrom + Durzi and Liljegren is exponential and cannot simply be offset by the change of a pick. How silly of me to forget the might that is the TOR draft team, run by gods who only select the very best and players that are certain to become generational talents. That is until they are traded out of TOR, at which point they become completely worthless and should be spat at when ever seen walking the streets.
