I get that Galchenyuk is underperforming for what he was supposed to be but if the return is Dale Weise then there’s literally no point.

I agree. I know it seems crazy to say this but I’d even rather get Sheary if this is what Galchenyuk is worth.

I just want anything that isn’t toughness. They’re finally looking good again because they stopped pursuing toughness.

With Buffalo's playoff hopes waning, they pass on the rental, and prefer draft picks, unless they are reasonably sure they can flip Galchenyuk for more than they could just get for Sheary. Even so, you're adding about a 3rd round pick in case they can't.

CBJ might take him off your hands, but since their success this year is so unexpected, I doubt they'd give you anything they consider valuable. Maybe, like, a 4th.

Agree. Not every team needs toughness to win. The Pens under Sully play best under speed & puck possession.

Well I really hope Galchenyuk could still fetch a second round pick or something with similar value to that. What a waste he’s been for the Penguins.

And they have guys who are tough to play against already. The difference between now and the past two seasons is that they’re deploying guys who are a mix of skill and grit who can play the tough guy role if ever called upon.

Yep I agree. And even those cup winning teams, it wasn’t 100% speed and skill. They had some guys who could throw out some grit as well like Kunitz, Cole & Fehr but they also had good skill. Scotty Wilson as well. But that was the system and they all fit in.
