All of this Tom foolery and you put Rackell on the 3rd line?

I don't understand these trades much, Martin-Jones is not a goalie any organization should want especially at that cap. Also Tage Thompson is not a top 6 player... I see his full potential honestly on the 3rd line in a few years maybe...

Take Meier out of that trade (you already have Olofsson at #2 LW) and you can substitute a lesser prospect for Mittelstadt (like Ruotsalainen or Asplund) and the trade would be both closer to even and make more sense for San Jose if they were at all motivated to move one of their young cornerstone players. (They're probably not.)

Right now Rickard Rakell would be your fourth leading scorer and on the second line with Olofsson and Hertl likely to put up over 60 points next year. (He's on pace to exceed 50 on one of the worst offensive teams in the NHL and despite missing 6 games due to injury.). So what you've got there is an insult. The two guys on the Reserve List aren't under contract, so Anaheim might never see them in a Gulls or Ducks sweater. What's left is a guy who is equivalent to Michael Del Zotto and a future first. Even if he's worth no more than Jake Muzzin (and he is), that means a 2020 first, Henri Jokiharju and one of your Reserve List guys.
