Trading people for 24 year old 60 point players who are on great contracts until they are 30 years old is the exact opposite of giving them away.

Thinking Tage Thompson is going to turn into a top 6 forward 5 years after his draft year despite showing very little is the definition of overvaluing,

Thinking Rasmus Ristolainen is going to turn into a #1 RHD after 500 games played is the definition of overvaluing.

Waiting to move on from players until everyone has figured out they have no value is harmful.

You suffer from narrow thinking . The key is developing players . You are far to wo willing to give them away before be being developed . Or rushing them into the NHL and ruining their development . Risto was rushed to the NHL and then pushed into a role he was not ready for . Now that is minutes have been reduced and is being coached his play has taken a step forward . Your thinking that he cannot be improved because he has played 500 games is just uninformed . He was on horrible teams with terrible defensive schemes . This year with real coaching he is finally looking like the player he can be . Middlestadt was rushed due to the lack of bodies . I have watched Middlestadt's games with Rochester and he is also turning the corner. Selling players for pennies on the dollar because of your desperation is just Tim Murray like . Sorry you have no patience or long term vision . Your trades are Murray like in giving away to many pieces to soon in their development . We will end up right back in the same situation Murray put us in.. Winnipeg is now outside the playoff picture and need D badly so Risto straight up for Ehlers would be acceptable . But the pieces you ad is just desperate

Agree to disagree on everything we've discussed over the last 2 days.

The Ryan O'Reilly trade set the team back 5 years. And paying 9 mil a year to a non center. Two draft picks for a healthy scratch dman.

All 4 trades are rejected by the other teams. So all your developmental guys will be sitting there available for Seattle.

Tage Thompson put in a strong 6:59 this season before getting hurt. So there is a?ways that to build on...

You realize they had no choice but to move O'Reilly ? The over reaction from the fan base got ugly and he actually had to leave town before he was traded. St Louis put in the only real offer . Botterill was rushed as the Pegulas did not want to pay him 7.5 million due. Now you want to trade Tage because he got hurt ? He was ready . Watch some Amerks games . Middlestadt was also rushed and is now slowly coming around. Damn you have to properly develop players so they at least have value when you move them . We should have never made the O'Reilly trad when we did with Colorado. This kind of impatience is what got us here with Murray and you want that same thing.

As a Jets fan all I'll say is that this trade isn't one I'd be happy with and I'm certain most Jets fans would feel the same, the term factor is mainly why and Middlestadt being very hit or miss at this point doesn't make up for the lost term between Ehlers and Ristolainen.

Buffalo has more then enough D to make up for losing Ristolainen, this trade would be a huge win for the Sabres.
