A 1st, a good prospect, and spooner is enough to eat 2.5 years of 3.8 million. No question.

at the time he was a b- level prospect. thats enough to eat 2.5 years of 3.8m not enough to do all that and snag nash too. you can take spooner out but he was more cap fodder/trade filler than anything.

I’m saying they shouldn’t have gone after Nash because it was a disaster.

Right but it wouldnt have been as bad if nash doesnt get a horrible concussion... missed a month of hockey came back and didnt look the same. same thing happened with riley nash too if you dont remember. before his injury he had 6 points in 11 games and still ended up with 5 in 12 in the playoffs (not great but considering he was probably still concussed...)

I am enjoying this re-hashing of the Nash deal, with all the "Spooner Lol NYR are suckers" vibes that ignores the fact that Strome came back for him 1 for 1 and is gonna put up 60+ points, and there is a non zero chance that the Rangers rental deal with Boston isnt for Kreider but its for Strome at 50% retained for like a 1st and a 3rd.
