Borowiecki

Created by: mn1365
Team: 2019-20 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 30, 2020
Published: Jan. 30, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
He appears to be a capable puck mover and a lot more sturdy on his feet than Jensen is, would be great on the PK and does anything for his team. But can he play his offside? This trade is kinda contingent on that. Curious to see what Sens/Caps fans think of value. I know he is loved in Ottawa but is a UFA with no extension talks happening.

Crime goes down in DC!

I dunno how Johansen is measured in terms of potential. Boro is a great 3rd pairing physical D who could be paired on the 2nd pairing when need be.

He can play his off-side, doesn't affect his game too much. But I'd be shocked if he played a game anywhere other than ottawa for the rest of his career

He is worth, at most, a 3rd. He's a very good physical 5-6 D. He's sheltered a lot by DeMelo who's probably the better pickup and better puck mover.

I wouldn't say he's a good puck mover. But, he's very hard in the corners.

Boro was built for the playoff! A highly physical/good skating defensive defenseman who will block a shot with his face if he has to.

And you probably won't have to give up much for him

A 3rd is fine. Just tell him to go to the visitor's locker room after Friday night's game! wink

Love his style of play, seems like the perfect addition for a playoff team and has a low cap hit. If we can get away with it, taking Djoos out and improving the pick a little would help with depth given that Djoos has a little playoff experience.

From your mouth to MaClellan's ears then. Make it happen!

I also like that he could play left (and maybe sometimes right side) as it can give Kempny/Siegs a break as they have the off game now and then.

What's the catch on Lucas Johansen? seems like a pretty good prospect?

A former first rounder, has struggled with injuries and been passed over by other prospects in the depth charts. Its hard for him to get any quality ice time in the AHL with regularity, believe its time for a change of scenery for him.
