I don't think the preds trade BOTH a high pick + a top prospect if they trade turris. He still produces and is on pace for about 40 points over 82 games, and he was in the doghouse for most of the time with Laviolette - he's not a Backes or Nielsen.

his contract is gonna be a problem for the preds down the road.

It's not terrible, but I agree that a pick in the low 30s might be a big ask. Why not offer the Habs 3rd (low 60s) in return?

Also, bigger question, what do you plan to do with Turris? Presumably, going forward, the Habs have Suzuki, Danault and Kotkeniemi at centre. At $6M x 4 years, Turris is not being brought in to be a fourth-liner. Are you planning to retain $3M and flip him?

Turris has been the Preds best center since Hynes has taken over.

Turris has been the best center out Johansen, Duchene, and him since Hynes has taken over. He honestly looks like the himself again.

turris can still be an effective top 6 center with a different team. He's also right handed, and CJ likes to have combos of rights and lefties down the middle

So are you offering Johansen? Someone's gotta go.

the 7 or 6years on johassen at 8mill is something id want to consider. plus he isn't a goal scorer. he's a play maker. and he;s 27, going 28. idk about him tbh. if mtl would want him

Nah, I'd rather get rid of Duchene. Never have been a fan of him.

But who does he knock out of the centreman spot? Clearly, Suzuki's future is there. KK and Danault are pure centremen as well. I think Turris could be a useful winger, as a 1-2 RW (with Gallagher). I was just curious how you planned to deploy him.

I agree Goat, but I wanted to see what the counteroffer would be to take into account the ludicrous contract.

JOFA suggests Duchene, whose contract is 6 more years @ $8M, and he's tracking for the second-worst season of his career. Not that enticing, but we're listening.

Probably should wait til offseason after you get the Domi contract figured out. Taking on Duchene would put you in a bit of a cap crunch with the current team.
