For me the combination of term and money is too much for him. Based on his age and style of play, I think it should be one or the other for Muzzin.

Is he? He's a sub .900 backup goalie on a team with terrible forward depth, a starter signed with term, and a goalie prospect waiting in the A

Somebody will give him that deal and there isn't really anyone else I like on the open market the leafs can get for nothing but cap space.

If you've ever actually watched him play, you'd know that he's the only reason why the Kings are actually in some of these games. He's signed for 2 additional seasons to a very team friendly contract. The Kings aren't looking to trade him, and unless they are able to trade Quick, I would wager that they are planning on carrying three goaltenders in the NHL next season.

Asking price for Campbell starts with a 2nd round pick. If no one is willing to give one up, then the Kings are content to keep him through the expansion draft.

If the price is a pick, I'd do that too. I included Moore because I assumed they'd rather a player over a pick.

And to the point that they'd carry three goalies, I'm not sure they would as expansion draft is coming up.

The expansion draft is the reason why they'd carry three goalies. They're going to protect Petersen for the draft, leaving Quick and Campbell exposed. If Seattle takes Quick (they probably won't), then the Kings have two solid goaltenders moving forward. If Seattle takes Campbell, then the Kings goaltending pipeline issues are likewise solved, with Petersen/Quick as 1A/1B for the 2021-22 season and Petersen taking over full time starter duties in 2022-23. Additionally, dangling a goaltender like Campbell in front of Seattle is a solid way to ensure that the Kings don't lose a quality defenseman like Sean Walker, Matt Roy, or Kale Clague in the expansion draft, since they only have slots to protect two of them.

If the Kings trade Campbell and then Seattle takes Quick, then the Kings are then in a tough spot as they do not have another NHL-caliber goaltender in the pipeline. The closest they have right now is Jacob Ingham, and he's still three or four seasons away from the NHL.

Agreed. Players with Muzzin's style tend to fall off HARD when they do fall off. E.g Nathan Horton, David Clarkson, (both leafs lol)

i dont think that seattle will take a goalie from the kings when theres going to be holtby murray and demko unprotected who all have more upside and are better than campbell quick and petersen

Oh, I'm sure somebody would offer him that, but if it's the Leafs I'm not thrilled.

Depends on their contracts. Holtby is on the wrong side of 30 now and is likely looking for a big payday on the UFA market wherever he goes. If he signs a 6+ year contract at $8M, I don't think Seattle is going to touch that. Similarly with Murray. What's he going to get next season? If he signs another reasonable bridge deal, then I can see Seattle taking a swing, but if he gets money and term, I don't think Seattle goes that direction either.

As for Demko, is he going to be exposed? My understanding was that he was going to be the goaltender that Vancouver kept and that they were looking to move Markstrom.

Campbell is a promising goaltender that has shown that he can be a starter in the league. Quick is a future Hall of Famer that will only have two years remaining on his contract after the draft and would give Seattle a face to put on their billboards. FWIW, pretty much every mock expansion draft I have seen this season has had Campbell as the player that Seattle takes from LA.

At least one on those was for Clifford. I wouldn't say a third is "a lot more than that"

It will likely turn into a 2nd, as the condition seems pretty easily met. A second is most certainly "a lot more than that."
