I don’t think Edmonton would trade Bouchard for Tatar even with salary retaining tbh. He’s a d man I just can’t see them ever trying to trade

Tatar @ 50% retention, Doesn't return any of those players. CAL, EDM, NSH, NYI all say NO.

@Dylan1995, Especially considering the value EDM was evaluating Larsson

. Jokes aside that was my expectation too... it's just that Habs can't quite cash in on Petry unless they have a better RD pool... hence this thread.

@DiehardRedWingsFan58, I though Tatar returned a 1st a 2nd and a 3rd to Vegas... not saying that his near ppg pace should make is value that much higher but I would have though that we could at least pry out one of those even if that meant adding a second ourselves... Otherwise what if Domi was the bait?

They did? But you're not getting future core pieces for an aging Winger even at 50% retention. That's not even remotely happening. I mean you're way over-valuing Tatar here. He's a good player but not going to net anywhere near those returns.

That Calgary trade is awful, Calgary doesn't need to dump cap at all right now, Tatar at 50% doesn't get a sniff at Valimaki. If they weren't willing to move Valimaki for Stone last year why would Tatar even be a thought?
