So the Preds get to downgrade at 3C, pay more salary to do it (Kerfoot's salary + retention on Bonino), AND throw in a pick? Terrible for NSH.

The EDM and COL proposals are highway robbery for the Leafs too.

How does trading Dermott for 2 thirds help balance the team?

Trade a Third plus a 4th liner for Jack Campbell then flip him for a fifth and seventh while paying another goalie 600K more seems like pour asset management

Bonino is a UFA at seasons end, you have to figure that into trades. I wouldn't say highway robbery for the other 2 trades, Edmonton needs a fast winger and pay the price for it since he is locked up for a few more years at a good salary. And admit that the Colorado trade may need more but it can be done around this proposal.

Off season deals are different don't get a much for them. As for the signing, he played better than Campbell would rather him for an extra 600k? Demott isn't worth more than 2 third round picks.

It's better balance add because each line now has a physically presence, Krider is fast as hell too and can forecheck like crazy on the first line and put the puck in the net. And each D pairing is balanced with a defensive and offensive defensemen.

I disagree with the NSH assessment. If they can get a longtime 3C to fill Bonino's void then it's a good move. They probably should trade him for picks and prospects, but there is no way that this has the value tipped towards TOR.

Bonino is signed for one more season after this.

Kerfoot isn't anything special, and with Johansen, Duchene, Turris, Sissons, & Jarnrkok all with term remaining, I don't see how adding Kerfoot at $3.5/yr helps the team address other areas of concern (3rd pair D, and top 6 wingers).

Yes but this trade happens next offseasons, therefore one season left until UFA.

Lol Kerfoot is a 3rd line centre much younger and has term left. The leafs would be stupid do that trade

I said it was terrible for NSH. It can be a bad trade for both teams. Kerfoot would be redundant on the Preds, retaining on Bonino hurts them when they're trying to replace/re-sign Smith, Granlund, Grimaldi next season, and giving up a pick is unwise given how shallow the Preds prospect pool is. If you think it's bad for your team too, that's fine.

he is making 4.1 not a good trade for the leafs. If I was your team I would trade him retaining some salary. At least Kerfoot is useful. Since you overpaid Duchene your prob not gonna sign Granlund or Smith

I'd rather pay Bonino 4.1 for one more year after this, than be locked into Kerfoot at 3.5 for another three years. Kerfoot is a downgrade over Bonino, and doesn't do anything that Jarnkrok can't. But if NSH is selling at the deadline, I agree they should move Bones. I don't think they'd have to retain more than $1M on him, and could still get a better return than this.

I don't think Bonino should be a target for the Leafs either. The only possible trade I could see between these teams right now, would be if the Leafs wanted any of NSH's low end UFAs (Weber, Hamhuis, Irwin, Salomaki, Gaudreau, Carr), as cheap depth options for the playoffs. The Leafs have way more 6th and 7th picks this summer than they could possibly need.

Ah, I missed that. I was reading it as a deadline proposal. Still, I'd pass.
