On serious note though Z, before being traded, what exactly was wrong with Cowen in ottawa?

Hahaha! Personally, I thought he had the skillset to be a really good player, but he always made the dumbest choices. For example, there would be 3 players wide open right next to him to pass to, but he'd put the puck right on the tape of an opposing player right in front of our net. He just has horrible IQ, and he had a few solid games, but I think injuries and management messed him up. They tried forcing him to become a Chara, that's literally who they compared him to. I don't mind him becoming a depth guy on our team, I mean, I think he's better than Boro, but he isn't worth close to $5 million. Ottawa signed him to a horrible contract, and I think that's why they're being so cautious with Ceci. Cowen actually has the hardest shot in sens history recorded at 109.5 mph, he never really used that shot though. He never used much. I really don't understand, he had time to play with Karlsson, Ceci, Wideman, Boro, but he couldn't prove himself to stay. I think the Leafs should at least give him a chance, he can still turn things around, especially with Babcock's coaching staff.

This trade is clearly lopsided, but hey whatever it's your team. I don't think Keith and Karlsson would play together even if they were on the same team. They both make their partners better and you can have (2) top lines in lieu of (1). Also, it's good to have a stay at home defenseman with in tandem with transitional dmen.

HOWEVER, for half the game you'd have a really good D-line out there.

Don't think Chicago trades their most valuable defenceman for a package like that.

Also Cowen's downfall was 90% because of injuries.

damnnnnnn you're right, I should've tried that!! But Neil and Toews would make a great line along with Kelly, so I'd add a 7th rounder for him and hope they accept it

No they shouldn't. They use all of the various methods to assess a player and they essentially deemed him to be useless.
