That's a little ambitious 0.34 PPG playing in the bottom 6, expiring contract that very well may walk for nothing.



Mangiapane is good but showed that he isn't a top line player, Phillips is undersized and similar to what Calgary is already flush with, Labanc is a pure scorer and is a right shot that fits on the top line, maybe take Phillips out for a lesser prospect but I don't think it's far off.

Deal, I think the Flames would possibly ask for retention but he would be perfect to slot into the right side for one more year next year which would allow the Flames to see what they have in Yelesin and figure out the right side.

Yeah I think most teams would. I think in real life we would get a stronger prospect than Philips but this deal is a decent framework. Id say follow the Zucker deal and add a bit for age and restricted status.

If Phillips turns into a 2nd line player for the Sharks then it’s a great deal. Anything less though and I’m not too high on it. Mangiapane is a decent 3rd liner but we already have a surplus of 3rd line players. I would try for replacing Mangiapane with Dube and turning the 1st into a 3rd.
