Jets trade strength for weakness, get out from Wheeler’s contract before he declines. Wild get a guy who can play 1C if they want him to. Plus he’s a local guy who could be a great leader through their rebuild

Jets would regret this trade, Wheeler is so much more valuable than most realize, he's a leader, major point producer, defensively sound and plays C and RW. Minny accepts and wins this trade

Minnesota wins by giving up a suitable replacement to Winnipeg plus a much younger defenseman? I want what you're on.

Even if the Jets reluctantly wanted to move Wheeler’s contract, they wouldn’t do it this way. All those jumping on “send Wheeler packing bandwagon”, it may be off season. Too early to tell if his production has permanently declined. Yes, it appears to a barometer to the future.
