Irrelevant. If he's right in reporting that's their asking price, then their asking price is nuts. He's a 28 year old rental good for 10-12 goals a season. In what universe is that worth a 2020 2nd?

st louis fans truly are the worst. you must know much about fast and his game. nashville traded a 2nd for boyle to play the 4th line. contending teams quilaty for defensivly reliable players. it's been happening for over a decade.

Its not that nuts especially in what seems to be a sellers trade market. He is a reliable checking 3rd liner who can PK efficiently and has playoff experience. not saying he will or wont go for the 2nd but thats what id be asking for.

if the rangers decide to trade him they might get even more than a 2nd. teams have been paying a premium for role players this season. fast would make any contending team better. he is a lot better than his numbers.

It's not exactly a rare commodity. And he's not near the top of the pile of that type of player, either. Nobody is giving a 2020 2nd for a mediocre one-dimensional F rental. I guess we'll just see by Monday.

even though i strongly agree with you, the tsn insiders don't know **** until 5 mins before a trade happens. ranger fans should be only trusting facts from what rick c and larry brooks say. those "insiders" aren't really insiders. they're actors playing to the tv lol.

if someone offers a 2nd the rangers should take it a run. the added prospect or ahler isn't going to be any good anyway.

A 2nd round pick is the rangers ask... as in they've put it out there that if you offer a 2nd you get fast.. the ask might not be met, or it might be.. i think they'll get two 3rds or a 3rd and 4th for him

according to several insiders the rangers are asking for more than a 2nd rounder. which is why he probably hasn't been traded yet.

i think it is more of they are pushing for a wild card spot... they need to be smart enough though to trade expiring assets.. i get that getting the young players some playoff experience is good, but they should have to get their on their own. That'll build more character. See what the lineup looks like sans kreider and fast, we have Gauthier that can move up, kravtsov in the wings, so we aren't lacking in skill with those trades, just lacking in experience. Hopefully they can either make the wildcard with a lack of experience
