Domi would be Broberg and a 1st, possibly another piece, Gallagher would have to be an over pay with Bouchard and a 1st minimum unfortunately.

Agreed. And there's about a 10% chance that the Oilers could figure out how to re-sign either one. Adding Domi at $6.5ish/year, or Gally at $5.5-6.5 is going to put a huge strain on the team, which would leave them in a situation where they'd probably need to pay to get rid of Russell, they'd be down 1-2 ELC's for high upside guys, and likely leaves them unable to resign RNH.

Domi is a 1st and a prospect not named Broberg or Bouchard. You could maybe argue one of those guys if he had a contract in place for say 4 yrs

He is an RFA not a UFA so he would still get a better return then a rental. He is also still young and plays better at center, looking at this deadline the price would be minimum a 1st and Broberg. Even then it would be a late 1st so Bergevin may even ask for more

Domi is probably worth a decent prospect like Bear or Jones and a 2nd or 3rd round pick

Gallagher is worth Draisaitl or McDavid and 3 firsts emotionally but for a team to actually pry Gallagher away from Montreal you would have to offer a package along the lines of a first round pick, a second line player and a young player/prospect like Yamamoto or Lavoie (this is counting the overpayment Montreal would want in return) I would think

Says you. Holland is trading the 1st pick he made 8th overall in an area of need, when honestly you could put just about anybody next to McDavid and they’d get 20. If you are using the Coleman comp you’re off base because TBL valued his contract $1.8M so much because of their cap situation.

So much wrong with this... I won't waste too much time on it, but I'll give you this: Bear and Jones are playing top-4 in Edmonton, they aren't "prospects." Bear has been playing 1RHD since the 2nd game of the season, he's not going anywhere.

Gallagher is a 2nd line player, he's 27 and has 1 year left on his contract. He's not going to return a 1st + a second line player + Yamamoto (a more valuable second line player than Gallagher) or Lavoie.

I don't know what you're smoking, but whatever it is, I'm seriously concerned for your health.

I'm not smoking anything just don't follow Edmonton at all so I looked at a prospect list for Edmonton from before the season started so I didn't know how they were progressing so that's on me.

But...

Gallagher definitely is not just a second line player he is part of one of the more effective lines in hockey, he's in his prime and is on one of the best contracts in the League. Also as there is literally no interest to trade Gallagher you would have to offer a package that Montreal actually cant refuse.

Seems reasonable. Kinda figured a team would have to overpay for gallagher cause Montreal loves that man. For good reason tho
