Does he really deserve another contract, he has 7 assists and that deserves another year at Belleville.

Fine with it. He's been a rock for Belleville, but with a left side containing Brannstrom-Wolanin-Murray-Aspirot he's replaceable for the playoff run. Makes more sense to leave the young guys in the AHL, and have an expendable piece playing meaningless hockey in the NHL.

Personally I would have given the look to Jordan Murray, but they likely feel that he's too important to Belleville to move, which is a fair assessment.

They would rather keep Lajoie-Brannstrom and Wolanin in Belleville. Labrie is just a warm body to play awful post deadline garbage hockey for Ottawa. It's not about whether he's deserving or not, but rather that he's someone they're familiar with, but aren't worried about removing from Belleville.
