Description

On Thursday/Friday Kieffer Bellows was sent down to Bridgeport. Yesterday the Sound Tigers had a game but Bellows didn’t play, possibly meaning that a trade was close to being completed. Today, Kieffer Bellows was recalled from Bridgeport and Andrew Ladd was sent down. If Ladd wasn’t sent down, it would be a completely different story. Bellows will probably take Ladd’s spot, which means that he will most likely be playing tonight vs the Sharks. Now that Bellows will most likely be playing after not playing last night in Bridgeport, it means that a trade fell through. The deadline is tomorrow, so there’s still time.

He played poorly in most of the games since Pelech got injured so he’s been scratched since last Monday.

Dobson doesn't play because 1. trotz doesn't trust rookies and 2. The plan for him this season was to be the #7 instead of going back to juniors.

Dobson was actually one of the better defenseman for the islanders since pelech went down. He leads all islanders defenseman) in xGF% (meaning he generated more offense at 5 v 5 than any other D) and was better at shot suppression than leddy, boychuk, and toews. Dobson had a rough 2 games before we traded for andy Greene, but that is just a part of the learning curve. He should be playing over leddy or Boychuk , who have both been major liabilities for the last two months and have cost the team games with their mistakes.

Maybe Bellows was simply scratched last night because they knew they were recalling him today
