Salary Cap Mode: Basic

- Saad + Murphy for Gaudreau. Feel the deal works for both sides. Gaudreau has been talked about being on the block for a while and Calgary gets a top 6 forward back who will make Calgary's top 6 more aggressive with Monahan, Lindholm, Tkachuk, etc. They also get Murphy on a fair contract, considering all of their UFA expiring D + an aging Giordano. Chicago needs to clear some cap and Murphy is a fair piece to move. Acquiring Johnny, can really make Chicago look competitive for playoffs next year.

Strome + Smith for Logan Brown + Connor Brown.
This move clears Smith's 3.25M cap. Strome is a great young player but I think Chicago would rather give the money to Dach in a couple years- who can sit behind Toews as a 2C then groom into a 1C. They also get another possible top 6 centre who is still on his entry level in L.Brown can possibly emerge to form a solid 2C. This move gives Chicago some more time to commit money and plan the future. The addition of Connor Brown would be great in Chicago's middle 6, he skates, puts up points and competes every night.
