Potential 2020 MN Roster

Created by: KoeberBrick
Team: 2020-21 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 27, 2020
Published: Feb. 27, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trades:
- Revisited Parise and Ladd trade from this trade deadline
- FLA trade revisited from trade deadline rumors, I think they could also use a center
- ANA trade was guessing that Miller retires

UFA Signings:
- Kaprisov has been rumored to want to come to the NHL, MN holds exclusive rights
- Galchenyuk has played well in MN, I think hes worth holding on to
- Granlund could want to return to, hasnt been a great year for him in NSH and they may not have the cap to resign him

RFA Signings:
- Both Greenway and Kunin have had solid seasons and are worth holding on to

Lineup Notes:
- Wild have to give Kahkonen some more NHL playing time to know if he is a future starter (reason for Stalock trade)
- Galchenyuk has played pretty well at center of late, if he isnt performing well Granlund can be swapped for him
- Unless there is serious development in the young forwards then this team will likly miss the playoffs

I think the Ducks are just going to have Anthony Stolarz be the backup if Miller retires

Possibly but GM's do love goaltender competition

I wouldn't be paying AG 3 mill per and not for multiple years. This kid needs to show he belongs in the NHL after a bad season. He might sign for 1 year between 1-1.5 mill, at least that's where he value is IMO

Honestly I am assuming he keeps playing well for 3 mill, the skills there but it is a gamble. if he plays crappy then i agree with 1.5 mill for 1 year

I think Florida would definitely consider that deal. Staal would be a good 2C and Brodin-Ekblad would be a great pairing.

The biggest issue the Wild have would still exist: we don't have a top 6 center. Eriksson Ek and Kunin are both middle 6 guys at their ceiling and neither have the playmaking ability you'd want between Kaprizov and Fiala. Probably the only assets that can get you a top 6 center are Brodin or Dumba, so I'm not a fan of moving one for Tippett even if Tippet looks like a great player. Unless we miraculously luck into Byfield or Stutzle, we have to move Brodin or Dumba for that center.

On a side note I don't want Granlund back. He was great and all but he would take up a spot that should be filled by one of our young players. We have Boldy and Beckman that will need a roster spot in a year or two.

Islanders would decline that deal so fast. They're not paying a 1st round pick and adding a top prospect to take on an additional $2m/yr (plus the contract lasts 2 more seasons)...

They nearly moved Ladd, bellows, and their 2020 first at the deadline for Koivu and Parise, but they won the Pageau bidding and the trade fell through. They definitely wouldn't decline this trade. I would be shocked if a trade like this didn't take place this summer.
