Disclaimer: I don’t want to trade Johnny, but I wonder what the Flames could get and how the roster would change.
Flames get Nolan Patrick, who has had a rough start to his career. I’m thinking a change of scenery could help him. They also get Ghost, who has struggled this year. I would expect the Flames to keep Brodie, but I’d rather sign Barrie instead and flip Ghost for a top 6 forward. Montreal could use a top 4 d-man and the Flames could throw in Jankowski who would act as a 3rd line center and develop into a top 6 forward.

Maybe add Frost, Flames add a pick going back?

I think Patrick has shown that he can be a top 6 forward. Get Patrick the change of scenery it could help him get on track.

Ghost is having a bad season and him and Vigenault don’t seem to be on the same page. I think he still has a lot to offer, but I’d try to flip him.

Why would Calgary want a guy who hasn't been healthy enough to play? And then trade for a guy having a down year? All for one the better forwards in the league.

Doesn't make sense.
