The deal seems reasonable for both sides. And at the end of the deal, Barrie is a UFA.

which is the crazy part that the Avs got him for 5.5m, they bought up 1 year of UFA with that 4 year deal. So reasonable.
He would be hitting the market at 29 years old, primed for one more big deal around 6 years, (Yandle comparable) I think its the best for both sides short term
