NYI 2020-2021

Created by: Y2J1399
Team: 2020-21 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 19, 2020
Published: Mar. 19, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Beau: thinking we can get the 1st rounder to send him "home"
Leddy: thinking we can get thw 1st rounder due to Pietrangelo signing elsewhere
Bailey: Didn't want to push for a 1st rounder --> thinking Bailey can be their Hoffman replacement
Boychuk: total shot in the dark, didn't check EDM cap space --> they can use veteran defense with some salary being retained and only 2 years left, 3rd rounder seemed possible
Buffalo: Loaded up well with with Wilde/Holmstrom who could actually be right into the Buffalo roster from season's start --> Ladd add's veteran presence on a 3rd or 4th line; combine that with some retained salary and a 3rd rounder I thought it may be enough to pass through.
Komarov: this was pretty much a straight dump attempt --> they can use Komarov for this season for a veteran presence as they will have a VERY young team coming up --> they can use him for the Seattle expansion after this season --> upgrade in draft picks for DET as well

Ok, rip me apart LOL

Edmonton rejects. They have no need (or cap space) for an old, expensive defenseman who isn't very good anymore.

Barzal isn't signing that nor is Hall taking that deal, Both are at least $2 million under what they will command.

Barzal is not getting more than 7.5 on a bridge deal. He’ll get 9.5-10 if he signs for 6-7 years.
