Rather have Dermot and Engvall on the Leafs at total pf 3.5m than having Hamonic blocking up the cap next year for another six years. More fantasy that an average RHD is gonna to change the Leafs fortunes.

You rather have a bottom pairing man and another fast guy than a top 4 d man?

Look at the middling Flames. Dman. You really think Hamonic is top 4 now and will be in the future.? Sorry so many have the illusion that ANY RHD is so much better than any of the Leafs Dmen. I know stats aren't everything but Dermot is statiscally better than Hamonic , is younger, cheaper and has hope.
Robertson an NHLer next season? Malgin in the top 12? C'mon.

You really think Dermott is gonna be any better because besides his first year he definitely hasn't shown anything

Tell me what is Hamonic showing at age 29. Dermot hasn't shown anything? Just look the stats, what does Hamonic compared to Dermot contribute. You could certainly argue Hamonic isn't as good as Geo, Hanifan, Brodie or maybe even Andersson. So many think any average RHD, just because he is a RHD is so much better than any Leafs Dman.

So you want the same defense as now?

????/. Why would the Leafs (or any teams) defence stay the same?
Barrie has the been the Leafs worse Dman this year....He's a UFA and gone. Ceci who has been OK (despite the anti Ceci rants) is gone also.
Reilly, Muzzin, Sandin, Dermot, Holl, Liljegren, Marincin.....that 17m for seven guys. Cap room to make a good addition. But please Hamonic isn't a good addition. He's barely top 4 now and will regress. And even looking at the Leaf defence I proposed....Reilly, Muzzin, Dermot have all missed time to injury. Sandin has played only have a season. I know injuries are part of the equation, but if the Leaf can hav fewer games missed with their Dman their defence will different this year just with their current players.

Clifford is not signing going league minimum and Hamonic won't sign 3.5x7 lmao

Kings don't want Engvall...

Ottawa won't trade those valuable picks for added salary. Do you not know anything about Melnyk?

As a Flames fan i can tell you right now that Hamonic contract is a mistake. Is he a decent option as a stop gap? Certainly, but 7 years... Yikes. Hes had a rough year, he had great synergy with Hanifin last year but that is gone. He's still very solid defensively but dont expect a lot of points.
