Description

MTL Trade
Swap UFA Centreman with different values to their team. Danault would be an ideal elite defensive 3C for a true cup contender, but can fill in the top 6 with ease like he has in MTL. He Gives gives EDM flexibility to use him as a 2C depending if Leon moves to the wing with McDavid. Cap hit is also just over $3m compared to RNH $6M. MTL gets back an elite offensive guy who could be their answer down the middle. Added a 3rd rounder from MTL but could need more (they have the picks). Think this is a good experiment for both teams before they decide to keep them or not July 1 2021.

OTT Trade
Dump Russell with JP and get back Anismov at $2.325M, solid prospect in Jonny Tychonick and a 2nd rounder. I think OTT may need to add another mid rounder. Anismov was on pace for 20 goals this year, and think bringing him to an solid team could rejuvenate him.

This lineup has lots of options; if Leon goes to wing Danault can go 2C, Ennis, Athanasiou or Anisimov can play 3C. Benson, Kassian, and Sheary can all fill into top 6 roles if injuries arise.

Please don't trade Nuge he's the most versatile forward for this team and Toews 2.0 in my opinion. I'm tired of previous coaches putting him in the bottom 6 when he is a PPG now in the top 6 plus one of the highest scorers after new years.

Why jump through hoops to get Anisimov when Khaira or Sheahan can play 4C just fine? I'd rather use some of these assets (Benning + Puljujarvi) to get a young winger with top-6 upside.
