Overpaying Zadorov. Not worth 4mil. He is bottom pairing defensive defenseman.

Depends on which Z shows up. The maddening one that plays lackadaisical for 10 games, or the one who shows up for 20 games as a shut down beast. If someone could get him to dial down the inconsistencies they could have a solid 2nd pairing guy that could help anchor the PK. But yeah giving him anything more than $3.5ish on a prove it deal isn’t ideal.

He is an overrated guy. Just a defensive defenseman who delivers hits. He is more like a 5th maybe 4th defenseman

He isn’t overrated he’s a solid 2nd pairing guy that will have great games where he can shut down other teams top guys with his size and skating, but then he’ll have a massive brain fart for a game and look lost. But I get your point of view.

I think you are getting lost in the semantics of a top 4 damn. Hes a 2nd pairing guy. Good on the PK, plays 5v5 minutes matching up against teams top lines and is pretty good in that shutdown role. He was 4th in both in terms of ice time on the Avs D core in PK and 5v5 time. Saying hes "a bottom pairing guy" is not accurate. Him and Cole on a line up card are the 3rd pairing but in reality he is playing 2nd pairing minutes in his role
