This obsession with obtaining RHD at any cost...Severson, and then to give one (Holl) for nothing. Makes no sense

I don't see why the Holl trade is necessary. In effect, you're telling us you think Marincin is a superior 7th defenseman to Holl. I was under the impression that he had formed an acceptable pairing with Muzzin, even if he doesn't stay there.

And your previous comment about Holl. He certainly wasn't the Leafs worse RHD last year. He's fine.
I still say if the cap is 81.5, which is about 6% lower than the expected cap pre Covid, there is going to some salary cut sacross the board...of six %

This is a good point. The only reason is for salary cap purposes. I personally see Holl as a solid 3rd pairing defence-man that can play in the top 4 of a weaker d corpse. I'd love to keep him but he simply doesn't fit (In my roster construction). I'd say there's a 0% chance they actually trade him IRL and there's either a trade involving Dermott for a defence-man or keeping both and go into the season with a "weak" d core.

Marancin is a 7th guy at best and should not be in the lineup unless there is injuries.

For Dermott I wouldn't mind him playing on his weak side if he's on the third pair and let him show us what he can do. I think he had a down year and could still push for a top 4 job in a year or 2.
