Description

Tough to play with rosters 2 years from now, but I would be pretty happy with a team that looked like this. Trades are all subject to whatever criticism you want to apply to them, but they're just to jettison players that I don't think stay on the roster but have SOME kind of value to warrant a return and not just allow to leave to UFA.

Raise for Buch based on whole year of playing KZB. Career year in contract year = big raise.
Raise for Chytil based on playing 3c for most of the year until Strome gets traded = bridge.
Not sure if Lindgren money is good.
Hoping we can sign Shesterkin to a deal like that.
Plenty of money left in the cap for the following year's raises (Zib, Kakko, Krav, Fox).
Stepan and Calvert just stop gaps. Replaceable by any available UFA.

Agreed. That is why I put the disclaimer up top. Crux of the post was: I like this roster and would be happy with something similar in 2 years.

Right but that's kinda the issue

You can use those assets that you've traded to improve your team....

With assets like Lemieux, Howden, Hajek, Georgiev, and Strome, Andersson and Rykov you naturally convert those into better assets in your lineup....You should have a significantly better bottom 6.

Also you gotta think by 21-22 Matthew Robertson is ready to go with Zac Jones waiting in the wings. So resigning Lindgren seems risky.

I'm sure Detroit would do that Georgiev alone you don't need to add Lemieux.
