At least this one is a lot more closer to value for Jack Eichel, Others on here were atrociuos.

Ya the ones that are like Andersson a first and 2nd next year are bad. The Sabres should ask for Kaako as a base and build from there.

1st step is to realize 3 things:

1) Rangers really don't need Eichel. They have a bonafied 1C who just put up a better scoring rate than Eichel. Also doesn't help that Eichel is basically a coach killer making double what their 1C is lol.
2) Is that when a player wants out, you're not getting full value in return. So no, Kakko isn't getting moved lol.
3) Cap space matters. And the Rangers can't afford the deal you proposed.

Eichel value is worth about
1) Top line or Top pair player = Trouba
2) Middle 6 or Middle pair player = Strome
3) Top Prospect = Kravtsov
4) Late 1st = Canes 1st or Rangers 2021 1st.

Eichel put up I think 78 points this year and collectively Trouba/Strome put up 86. On top of that is a 1st + Kravtsov going the other way lol.

not a fan of either team, but I don’t think Buffalo does this trade. Even if Kakko turns into a ppg player, the Rangers become perennial Cup contenders the picks end up at the back 5-10 picks of the round, Buffalo ends up with a 1C/2C combination of what some combination of Reinhart/Strome/Cozens? That doesn’t really do much for them long term does it?

Filip Chytil is really really good at hockey....and that Rangers 1st is probably another top 6 player. It's too much lol.

Exactly, Can't see Botterill even remotely thinking about moving Eichel to the Rangers, Without at least having Kakko as the main piece.

49 pts in 144games. I’m curious from a Buffalo perspective would they be anything more than a fringe 1st round exit playoff team after this trade?

Well they're less than that now...so you're saying the trade improved the team today and also significantly in the future?

That's kinda why it's not an even deal.

No I’m not. I’m talking best case scenario and I was trying to be polite. A team with C’s of Reinhart, Strome, Chytil, and Cozens sucks ass worse than Buffalo now. Elite talent brings talent around it up. What’s Reinhart going to do against top d pairings w/out Eichel 50 pts?

...The problem with Buffalo is F depth. No one in the bottom 9 topped 30 points. That's because of 2 things: 1) poor drafting 2) poor UFA signings. You can either trade Eichel to try fix that and hope that the assets you get will grow into top line players, or you can not.... but there's no quick fix here.

I agree whole heartedly but it is a lot easier to find talent for the 2nd, 3rd 4th lines than an elite 1C. Buffalo needs a new GM, much in the way Edmonton needed a new one.
