Sergachev plus CBO

Created by: KINGS67
Team: 2020-21 Los Angeles Kings
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 12, 2020
Published: Apr. 12, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Instead of offersheeting sergachev, I traded for his rights by upping the “projected” offer sheet compensation (‘20 2nd instead of ‘21 3rd and kept the ‘21 1st while adding a promising defender in Durzi as well as a highly rated prospect in Kupari). Durzi came part of a package that landed TOR Muzzin. Yes, I know TB has other options to trade and sergachev isn’t the only odd man out. But if he’s going to get offersheeted why not trade for him and give TB better picks and a player or 2? Not sure if the Kings would do this or TB but it’ll speed up the kings rebuild quicker.

I think Turcotte makes the team out camp and starts on 3rd line similar to Dach in Chicago.

Would like to put in kaliyev on the line with Turcotte but I don’t think he makes it out of camp right away.

Kings Draft Cole Perfetti at 4OA (I believe Stuetzl will be gone at 2 or 3 unfortunately). Kings need more kids with an elite shot and a knack for goal scoring. I think it’s possible a player with his high end skill, vision, and playmaking ability can make it out of camp. Perfetti > Kaliyev. Idk about him starting on the 1st line but I know Iafallo is not 1st line material when this Kings team gets better.

Huge overpayment for Sergachev. 6Mx 7y is more reasonable

As a Tampa season ticket holder I watch a lot of Sergachev, And honestly he's not worth anywhere near $9M per 7 years $42 million at the most maybe. Any GM giving him 9M should be fired immediately.

Disregard the contract. I want input on the trade more than the contract to be honest.

The trade is decent value for him more then fair, Nicely done if Julien Brisebois were to move Sergachev pretty sure he says yes to your proposal.

If you offer sheet at 6.3m costs only a 1st and 3rd. Sergachev more like a UFA in that Tampa cannot match any offers. Unless you want to offer 8yr term no sense in making a trade at all.

Honestly I think the kings have way to valuable of players in their prospect pool and would be susceptible to an offer sheet of those players if they offersheet someone.

I don't see LA buying out Carter to be honest.
It's a savings of only $1,333,333 of actual money.
He still looks like he can be a 20 goal guy. His contract is a little expensive, as 20 goal wingers are in the 3-3.5 range currently. He plays center so there is something to be said there.
He can play a lower line, and help. It's a bit much on the cap but it's only two years and you are looking at $8,737,500 cap space here.

I think just an offersheet makes more sense. Tampa will try their best to resign him so unless they can't match an offer then I don't see them trading him.

In my own fantasy land I like the idea of using Kupari, Grundestrom, Durzi, Walker, and Prokhorkin to acquire DeAngelo after offer sheeting Sergachev. We might have to offer Sergachev 7.5M because I think there will be a lot M of teams trying to offer sheet him and most may offer 7M.

As far as Kaliyev, I see 2 scenarios for him. He has outgrown the OHL so I think he will either spend 1 full year in the AHL or he will be like Hoffman who takes forever to develop then turns into a constant 30 goal scorer.

Idk about that. I really like walker. I think Kupari Durzi and grundstrom could definitely be expendable for the right player. DeAngelo is definitely a defender I like. I’d say it’s one or the other sergachev or ADA
