I can't see a world where Philly trades JVR and doesn't either retain salary or get someone of equal salary and age back. Good player but not someone I want to invest 7M a year in unless its for peanuts on the dollar. The main selling point will be that team taking 7M off your hands, not because JVR is the most wanted player out there.

Actually scratch that, I think NJ makes a lot of sense. They have tons of cap and a need for some quality linemates for their younger centers. He's from NJ so I think that could work. Once again though not without taking some salary back and not in the form of a 24 year old RFA whose already a better player than JVR is.

I am the first one to say I loved Simmonds as a Flyers fan but at this point in his career- it’s a big No. This team was winning in AV system due to speed and transition through the zones. Wayne is the complete opposite. Also, with basically no room to put him on the top two PP units he serves no purpose
