Barrie is getting way more, and Edmundson is getting way less. Haula is your 3C over McLeod, and possibly even your 2C if Hughes doesn't figure it out this year. I also wouldn't pay namestnikov that much

Isn't Barrie a little injury prone?

Unfortunately for the Leafs last seaon, Barrie wasn't injury prone. I mean how could he? He doesn't hit anyone, he gives away the puck easily cause he doesn't want to get him, and he's not in position to block shots. He was the Leafs worse Dman last season. He's closer to a PTO signing than a multi year contract if his on ice value was examined.

This all just looks like spending money because they can. Too long and too much money for Vlad and Edmundson, and judging from this year that Barrie signing will give NJ another version of an under performing Subban.

Haula could fit in the bottom 6, so that’s alright.

If they are going to spend, they should do it on more impactful players like Granlund and Dillon. They will have to pay more for those guys, obviously, but there’s more than enough cap to do so.

Sevo will fetch more than that, and Zacha could be packaged to get another younger D man with term.
