Brodin could probably get closer to $42mil+ x 7 and wouldn't term length for Domi be max 7 years?

Not if he is traded and extend after. The max length is 8 years.

Koivu will be retiring, we have Sturm penciled in as our 4C next year. No need to give up the pick to get rid of Rask, we have a ton of space to eat his contract and worst case scenario his buyout would only count against the cap for a little over $1M. Domi for Brodin at it's base is fair, giving away the pick is not smart for the Wild.

Edit: also noticed the Toffoli signing, we don't have room for him with Kaprizov who you forgot to sign. Fiala plays RW.

From what i read about Kaprizov is futur in Minnesota is not Clear at all. He change agent a couple week ago and don’t know if he is coming to North America or stay in Russia. I hope he will make the jump but he could get a massive deal from Moscow so that complicate things.

You mean make the trade Brodin for Domi and Mete? That seems like a good trade for both teams.

That couldn't be farther from the truth. He never had an agent officially, Milstein was never hired by Kaprizov. Our GM texts with Kaprizov and has confirmed he's coming.

First article

"With Kirill Kaprizov on the verge of signing his first NHL contract [...] First, according to sources, Kaprizov has turned down an extension to return to CSKA Moscow. Second, according to sources, Kaprizov appears close to signing with another NHL Players’ Association-certified agency.

[...]

The Athletic learned Friday [April 3rd] that Kaprizov is no longer being represented by agent Dan Milstein.

Milstein had been working as a liaison between the Wild and Kaprizov since the KHL’s two-time leading goal scorer and Russian Olympic hero fired his initial two North American and Russian agents three years ago. But Kaprizov apparently never officially signed with Milstein to represent him.

[...]

Third, Guerin seems to have hit it off with Kaprizov.

Guerin exchanges texts with Kaprizov often and has even a couple times used Google Translate to send Kaprizov texts in Russian. Kaprizov, whose English is limited, replies in English.

“I don’t know if he’s using Google Translate, but I sent him a really long text and (our Russian scout) Ivan (Nepriaev) was going to help him translate it, but he told Ivan he didn’t need help and he’d do it on his own, and sure enough, he wrote back,” Guerin said Friday. “We’ve gone back and forth a bunch. He’s such a good kid, so I’m not worried. …

“I’ve talked to Kirill directly and he understands how much we want him.”

This brings us back to the second update — the fact Kaprizov would love to start his entry-level contract immediately rather than next season.

[...]

Right now, the Wild are in a holding pattern waiting for him to sign with an agent. Still, they’re convinced he’s coming nonetheless."

Second article

"As The Athletic reported April 10, Guerin and Kaprizov text back and forth often and the Wild are expected to sign him as early as May 1. …"

Edit: this info is coming from the Wild's beat writer Michael Russo, who's word is as good as gold when it comes to info about the team. I don't trust anybody but him and the national writers like Pierre LeBrun and Bob McKenzie for Wild info.
