Minnesota says no
Doubt Killorn waves for San Jose
I could see the other trades working out, Buffalo may want more.

That’s a no from Columbus. A late 3rd, a potential middle 6 wing and a meh wing isn’t getting Anderson. We have no reason to sell him at his lowest value.

I based the trade off a Minnesota team made earlier today. What else would you want us to add?

Anderson is a middle 6 wing, probably best placed on the 3rd line so getting a potential middle 6 wing+ isn't a horrible deal.

Staal is currently the Wild's only top 6 center on the roster. Eriksson Ek can maybe fit in as 2C next year, Kunin can play some center, Galchenyuk performed modestly at 3C, Koivu is probably gone next year, Rask is trash, none of our C prospects are ready for more than 4C. Just leaves a gaping hole for the Wild next season to ditch Staal.

But Columbus has no use for one of those... we have plenty of wings who can play 3rd and 4th line. Honestly the thing in the trade Columbus values the most is the 3rd. But honestly it’s so late in the draft that there’s really no reason for us to sell Anderson at such a low price. It would be better for us to wait and let him get offersheeted this summer as that would likely be a 2nd round pick in 2021. If not we hold onto him and trade him at the deadline hoping he rebounds from having a bad year this year.
