Tell me why the sharks reach on Stranges instead of just taking Lapierre

When Stranges is skating he gets people wet. San Jose would go head over heels to take the best skater in the draft from the US.

I guess, he would easily be around at 35 though if not 50

That would be a massive reach for the sharks at pick 28 - Stranges is ranked 56th by nhl central scouting which considering there’s at least 20 euros picked ahead before that places Stranges around pick 75 - Someone is “wet behind the ears”

Zion Nybeck all 5ft 6 of him and ranked 29th best Euro (at least 30 NA skaters would go before him) by NHL scouting is a first rounder?
Lukas Cormier ranked 32 best NA skater similarly with at least 15 euros to be picked ahead of him is not a first rounder!

I think the Flames will go for either a RW or RD. They have C depth. I could see them take the G Askarov if he falls that far. I could see them taking Braden Schneider or Justin Barron to shore up their D core since Hamonic is likely leaving in free agency.

Zach Senyshen wasn't even ranked and he went ahead of Kyle Connor and Matthew Barzal

Ok so you’re an expert in all the reaches for vastly underrated players - a little redonkulous

- Arthur Kaliyev was the #7 NA Skater last year and he fell to the 2nd round
- Nolan Foote was ranked #37 among NA Skaters and went #27 in the draft
- John Beecher was ranked #47 among NA Skaters; he went at pick 30

Bottom line is that if you're taking the Central Scouting Rankings as holy writ, you're going to be sorely disappointed with the outcome of the draft.

So you put the first three letters in assumed?
Central Scouting is only one source of expert rankings and just one of my references - I’ve yet to see many expert drafts that put Zybeck and Cormier in the first round and my review of their highlights doesn’t justify their place in the rankings hence my critique.

Not saying this is a good source but Cormier and 28th and Nybeck at 32nd (1st pick of 2nd round)
