No thanks, rather keep Krug, a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd.

Imagine they sign Krug, have your draft picks, and the better defenseman LMAO

I rather have Serg for the next 5 seasons than Krug for the next 7

Interesting concept. Doubt b’s fans would like this, but I think it’s not a bad idea. Krug’s contract will likely be too long. Sergachev at 6x6 would be ideal. If you look around the league you see nurse at 5.6 x2, Morrissey at 8x6.25 and provorov at 6x6.75. I’d take Morrissey and provorov over sergachev, so I’d place him at 6 on a longer deal.

Bruins have an ageing core. This would be a move to prolong this teams long term competitiveness and not get bogged down with bad contracts and 35 year olds

Risk is fun isn't it..

Also TB couldn't sign Krug if they tried. No cap space even with a CBO

Indeed and we know we're not gonna be a top team forever. Will need to restock like 2015-2017 so those picks are more important than getting Sergachev. Keep Krug for 5-6 years, have Vaakanainen/Grzelcyk play with 73 and we have at least two strong pairings.

And anyways, I don't see this happening.

Columbus threw the kitchen sink last year and they all left. Gotta imagine they regret the assets they forfeited by buying instead of selling???

Those were for rentals. Completely different. Yes you lose the picks, but you acquire a premium player for long term entering his prime

Personally, i dont want to do this, I like Krug,
and unforunately It wont ever happen.

IN SAYING THAT:
I think its a dope idea! It would be fun to see, and also bruins giving up a LOW first, a LOW 2nd, and a LOW 3rd for him isnt too bad an idea! Would be fun to explore! Now maybe if they do that they can trade away Urho for a 1st or a 2nd and a 3rd to replenish those picks too (the LHD will be Sergy, Griz, Lauzon, and Moore (with Zboril still coming up)

There is logic behind thinking that krug’s next deal will be too long and letting him walk, but there is no logic behind offer sheeting sergachev. I won’t get into the typical stuff about why offer sheets don’t happen, we all know it. What I’m guessing you’re not in the loop on is the wealth of left D prospects the bruins have. It’s becoming a legit problem taht they don’t have room to play Vaak and Lauzon. If they let Krug walk, it will be because they want those guys to play, and not because they want to throw a weird 7.5 million dollar offer sheet, and massively overpay a division rivals RFA. Wanna do the same thing with Cirelli? Then you have my attention.

Oh, and bump that grzelcyk deal up 1.5 million at least.

Sergachev will age a lot better than Krug. I'd take Sergachev.

For one player (Sergy) - he's good yeah, but not GREAT!
Is he a "KING-maker a CUP-maker"(?)...think we'll all agree that he's not really that valuable because in order to do that deal, the draft board above is turned into Swiss-cheese...

7.5 mill for Sergachev isn't an overpay. He is worth that. He is 21 and already has 3 amazing seasons under his belt. Very capable of being a #1 D for team.
He can play special teams, log big minutes, and he has learned from one of the best Dmen in the league in Hedman.
He is a stud.

OK whatever, but at the end of the day the simple math is:
Krug (goes away) < < === > > > to add Sergachev ((who's younger (a plus) and comes onboard to be the highest paid B without having played one-minute with the club (a minus)).

BUT in order to make this seemingly LATERAL skillwise move Krug < < === > > Serg it costs the organization 3-draft picks and they are practically in the same position post-OS except for the "cheese-board" draft futures...

This move, as the saying goes = "IS JUST CUTTING OFF THE ARM DESPITE THE HAND!"

TBL are in Cap Jail.
Therefore, if Krug is gonna leave then it's better to try and do a simpler WIN-WIN trade w/ TBL that brings in an asset like SERG and one of their c r a p p y contracts so they get out of jail...

Bruins have a number one d man. I’m sure getting sergachev would be fine and dandy but it just doesn’t make sense for the team as constructed. Letting krug go to pay a hefty price in assets to get sergachev is just weird given the organizational depth.

Thats fine. I could agree with that. Obviously we don't know what level those younger guys are going to get to so I would argue its still a good move.
My point is that Serg is a very good player. I respect the opinion that he isn't needed though
