Borgstrom is going to the KHL, I think his time in North America is done. Juulsen is a solid 3rd pairing defender with major health issues. I'd rather take the chance on Juulsen.

Anderson also has health issues, but for the price, it's an easy accept from Montreal.

I'd rather just keep those picks and try and hit on a player then trade for Fowler. We aren't in the right place to trade futures for a 28 YO defender.

I can see that but with 14 picks this draft I would go with a 28 yr D-men over the try and hit strategy

Yeah because Montreal is so much closer to cup contention then Anaheim, Fowler has no reason to waive from Southern California to Montreal. He has a 4 team trade list and i'm pretty sure Montreal isn't on it. And those pieces don't get him anyways.

I'd imagine they will get a younger guy with potential as I believe the retool still isn't done yet.

I could see Montreal being closer to South Detroit/Windsor as a solid selling point

As stated elsewhere, quantity substitutes in Andy trades are Not Okay, so this is an easy no from Columbus. (Truth be told, I don't want to trade him for the 2nd he's probably worth on the open market either; I think it's more profitable to the Jackets to keep him and see if he bounces back. But that's not quite consensus around here.)
