I know the good teams, great teams have overachieving players or at least playing "above their salary". But having 14 players making under 1m, seems like a recipe for mediocrity.

True however the imports are still ELCs and they play better than $1M and most of that 14 are bench players that won't see much time like Svedberg. I hear your point though. Can't wait for the season to start!

You almost have to root against the ELCs meeting their bonuses, or win the Cup. A first or second round exit and a bunch of ELCs bonuses met would make cap hell even worse.

I don't think Chi misses the Playoffs, they've earned the benefit of the doubt until they actually do miss.

I think Gustafsson would probably make the team over Svedberg, but they'll probably choose to go with two extra Forwards instead of D (so as not to lose guys through waivers to start the season).
I also think they'll give Lundberg some time in Rockford to get acclimated to the N. American ice but he'll eventually be called up.
