Yeah. I’m really really liking the kings future.

I made a ‘24 line up yesterday that was basically this except I signed Mathews at 13M LOL.

Too much for Nuge. He'll be 31 in 2024 and signed for 5 more years @ $8M per? No thanks.

What did you do with Doughty? His contract doesn't expire until 2027. According to this lineup, you gave him away for nothing?

Unless something goes terribly wrong and the Kings fall to 6th or 7th, they will likely not be selecting Drysdale. That 1LW position will be filled by Lafreniere, Stutzle, or Perfetti.

I don't think Fagemo or Kupari will become 2nd line players. I'd like to see a 3rd line of Kempe, Madden, and Fagemo though. My suspicion is that Kupari and Thomas never make this team and are traded in the next few seasons.

I don't know anything about Luke Reichel. I assume that you think the Kings will take him at #35. My guess is that they'll take a defenseman with that pick, but who knows.

If Frk is still around in 2024, it's not going to be on the 4th line. If he establishes chemistry with Vilardi and can pot 20+ goals per season, then the Kings will keep him as a top-six winger. If not, he'll go back to Europe when his current contract expires.

Finally, I'm not convinced that Matt Roy is a second pairing defenseman on a contender. He's a great 3RD, but if you have him on your 2nd pairing, then your team has defensive issues. Walker has a better chance of maturing into a 2RD than Roy, although neither project for that slot at this point in their careers.

Aside from that, it looks good. I agree 100% with your center picks, although I think Turcotte might end up being the 1C with Vilardi at 2C.

Drysdale is ranked 4-5 for most people. More likely they take Raymond but I think Drysdale is still a good option for you guys.

Kings don't need defense. They already have three strong defensive options on the right side all in the prime of their careers. WIth Doughty under contract for the next 7 seasons (and with no plans to get rid of him despite what people on here say), the best Drysdale can hope to do on the Kings is 2RD until at least 2027. Compare that with the wingers in the pipeline, of which they have exactly one that projects to be in the top two lines.

No, the Kings need to take a forward in this draft, preferably a LW. Lafreniere > Byfield > Stutzle > Perfetti/Raymond. If all of those guys are taken, then maybe they consider Drysdale.

I would switch Roy with Durzi I forgot to. The kings are stacked at forward for the future. Defense not to great. i think they need to take a defenseman. Doughty i put him in as a trade piece to a team that needs d. I switched Nuge with Scheifele however I am about to edit it again to find a left wing using research
