Pretty good tbh. Lehtonen and Barabanov both get bottom line spots but it's good otherwise.

Also they will more likely get a younger goalie like Jarry to replace Anderson.

Ok. Freddie also expires next year and his next contract will be horrible so he will end up walking. Did you take a look at who is on the goalie market next offseason? Theres no one of Markstrom let's caliber. Their opinions are to keep Freddie and downgrade the season after, resign freddie to a horrible contract or upgrade at the goalie position and get assets for Freddie. They could make a trade for one but that seems very unlikely based off the current goalie market

You realize that Markstrom is 1 year younger than Andersen right? I took a look at next seasons goalie market and I see Binnington.
Also, this is a bad idea. By the time we find a team that Andersen waives to and a team that wants him, Markstrom will be gone.
Way rather just keep Freddie. Had one bad season because he had one of the worst defense ever. The defense was injured half the season

Binnington isnt that good. I have absolutely no idea where you got this idea that the leafs have to trade Freddie before they move Markstrom lol. The leafs defense wasnt close to being the worst ever. It was better then previous seasons and he still played like ****. He cost them 8 points this season, that puts them 1 point behind tampa. He had one month (November) where he had a .938 sv% and his next highest month was a .904 .

Mark career #'s below (spoiler - they are meh!)...
272_Games 256_Starts 110_W 118_L 2.80_GA .911_SV% 5_SO

* On fire in 2019-20:
43_Games 43 _Starts (15th most) 23W (11th most) 16_L (14th most) 2.75_GA (27th rank) .918_SV% (14th rank) 2_SO

Hardly showing "top-5" in anything G-Man in the NHL-related...

If you look at team stats sure he dowsnt look good. How about you take a look at his individual stats and get back to me. It's not 2005 anymore, wins, losses and GAA means absolutely nothing

So Andersen had 4 bad months (Which was where the leafs injury ocean hurricane started) so we should trade him????
Why not trade Tavares because he has had a bad season?

How about how about goals saved above expected? Goals saved above average? Expected save percentage vs actual save percentage?

All the stats you listed and the ones on nhl.com dont mean that much and are extremely lazy

Tavares didnt have that bad of a season. Freddie was horrible 4 out of 5 months. He was even bad when the leafs started to get healthy again. Based off his workload and age, betting on him long term is a horrible idea

In February the leafs were the 10th or 11th best team in the league defensively. Guess what Freddie's sv% was. It was .884

That's atrocious

No one said sign him to a 7 x 5, just no point in moving him for a mediocre return just to sign Markstrom who has 1 good season that's it just 1 good season (Also both Freddie and Markstrom are 30)

Freddie is almost 31, Markstrom just turned 30.

Freddie will want a big contract based off what hes done in his career and at his age hes only declining. His work load and injury history means hes pretty much a ticking time bomb. Markstrom hasn't played that much in his career so his body wont decline very rapidly and hes so strong mentally that he will will fall off later in his career.
